Identifying Enhanced Crystals in Your World
Spotting the Visual Difference
With Crystal Vanilla Tweaks installed, amethyst crystals and other crystal formations will appear noticeably cleaner and more polished compared to vanilla Minecraft. The textures are refined to have sharper edges and a more defined geometric appearance while staying true to Minecraft's blocky style.
Where to Find Enhanced Crystals
Look for amethyst geodes in the deep underground—typically between Y-level 0 and 16. When you find a geode, the crystal clusters inside will display the improved textures immediately. You can also find budding amethyst blocks, which will show the enhanced visual polish as crystals grow on them.
Comparing with Vanilla
If you're unsure whether the pack is working, temporarily disable it and re-enter your world. The difference will be obvious: vanilla crystals appear rougher and less refined, while the tweaked version looks smoother and more intentional in design. The enhanced version maintains full vanilla compatibility—all crystal mechanics work exactly the same, only the appearance changes.
The pack also improves ore visibility with flowing textures, making underground exploration more visually rewarding without affecting gameplay.
