Crowd Governor Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Crowd Governor menu?
Press the configured keybind (default varies by installation) to open the mod's main menu. The menu appears as an overlay and lets you access all spawn control, mob inspection, and configuration options from there.
Can I ban a mob from spawning everywhere at once?
Yes—use the global ban feature in the menu to prevent a mob from spawning across your entire world. This is faster than banning it from individual biomes if you want it gone completely.
What's the difference between disabling a spawn type and banning a mob?
Banning removes a mob entirely from spawning in your chosen scope (global, dimension, or biome). Disabling a spawn type lets the mob exist but prevents it from spawning through that specific method—for example, you could disable natural spawning but allow it to spawn from spawners.
How do I reduce lag from too many mobs?
Lower the total mob cap using the entity cap adjustment feature, or reduce spawn rates for specific mobs that are causing problems. You can also inspect your world to see which mobs are present and remove the ones you don't need.
Can I change what gear a mob is wearing or what it drops?
Yes—use the inspect feature to select a living mob in your world, then modify its equipment and drop table directly without needing to respawn it or use commands.
Does this mod work with other mob mods?
Crowd Governor is designed to work with most mob mods, but compatibility depends on how those mods handle spawning. Test in your world or check community reports for specific mod combinations.
Can I make mobs spawn in a biome where they normally wouldn't?
Yes—use the custom spawn assignment feature to add any mob to any biome, or create custom spawn rules that let mobs ignore their normal restrictions.
Will my settings save if I restart the world?
Yes, all your spawn rules, bans, and mob caps are saved to your world's configuration and persist across restarts.
Can I adjust spawn rates for just one biome, or does it affect the whole world?
You can adjust spawn rates at multiple levels: globally (entire world), per dimension, or per biome. Choose your scope in the menu when configuring a mob's spawn rate.
What happens if I set the mob cap to zero?
Setting the cap to zero prevents that mob type from spawning naturally, though existing mobs remain unaffected—you'd need to remove them manually or use the inspect feature.
