Hide Your Nametag While Typing in Chat

The Problem

In vanilla Minecraft, pressing the chat key forces you to stand up, making your nametag visible to enemies. This mod solves that.

Steps

1. Activate sneak before opening chat (hold your sneak key or use toggle-sneak)

2. Press your chat key to open the chat window

3. Your character will stay crouched—your nametag remains hidden

4. Type your message or command normally

5. Press Enter to send, or Escape to close chat

6. You'll remain crouched after chat closes

For Toggle Sneak Users

• Enable toggle-sneak before entering chat
• Watch the status text above your hotbar to confirm you're in crouch mode
• After sending your message, you can toggle sneak off or press your standard sneak key to stand

Tactical Advantage

This is especially valuable during base defense or ambushes—you can coordinate with allies through chat without revealing your position through a visible nametag. Enemies scanning the area won't spot you as easily.
