Crossstream Overlay Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I connect my Twitch/YouTube/Kick/TikTok chat to the mod?
Open the mod settings menu and select your streaming platform, then authorize the mod to access your channel. The mod will prompt you to log in through your platform's authentication system, and once approved, your live chat will start appearing in-game automatically.
What's the difference between floating chat and HUD mode?
Floating chat displays messages as 3D cards that appear in your game world and move around, while HUD mode keeps chat pinned to a corner of your screen and stays visible even when you open your inventory or crafting menu. You can switch between modes in the mod settings.
How do I pin a message so it doesn't disappear?
Right-click on any chat message card in the world to pin it in place. Pinned messages will stay visible until you unpin them, even if new messages appear.
Can I hide chat from specific users or block certain words?
Yes—use the filter settings to add words or phrases you want hidden, and you can block individual users through the chat history menu. Blocked users' messages won't appear in your overlay.
Why aren't my emotes showing up?
Make sure emote display is enabled in the mod settings and that you've selected which emote providers to show (Twitch, 7TV, Kick, YouTube). If emotes still don't appear, check that your streaming platform account has emotes available and try reconnecting your chat.
Do I need a second monitor to use this mod?
No—that's the whole point of the mod. You can see your chat directly in-game without alt-tabbing or using another screen, so you can respond to viewers while playing without interruption.
Will this mod work with other overlay mods?
It should work with most HUD mods, but if you're using another chat or overlay mod, they may conflict or overlap. Test them together and adjust positioning in the settings if needed.
How do I adjust the size or position of the chat overlay?
Open the mod settings and look for display options where you can scale the chat cards, adjust transparency, and reposition the HUD element. Changes apply immediately so you can see them in real-time.
What if my chat isn't connecting or messages aren't showing?
First, check that you're actually streaming and that the mod has permission to access your channel. If chat still doesn't appear, try reconnecting through the mod settings or restarting your game.
Does this mod affect my game performance or FPS?
The mod is designed to be lightweight, but rendering many chat messages as 3D objects can impact performance on lower-end systems. Try reducing the number of visible messages at once or switching to HUD mode if you experience lag.
