CreativeCore FAQ
20 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does CreativeCore actually do if it doesn't add any blocks or items?
CreativeCore is a library mod: it provides shared code (GUI API, packet system, recipe handling, transformer API, event system, InfoStack objects, fake world) that other mods like
LittleTiles, RandomAdditions,
ItemPhysic and CraftingManager build on. On its own it adds no gameplay content, so you install it and then forget about it.

You only need it because a dependent mod requires it. If you remove all mods that depend on CreativeCore, you can safely remove CreativeCore too, and keeping it installed alone does nothing for your game.
How do I know which of my mods needs CreativeCore?
Check your mod list for
LittleTiles, RandomAdditions,
ItemPhysic or CraftingManager, since those are the mods that declare CreativeCore as a dependency. If the game crashes on startup complaining about a missing CreativeCore, one of those (or another dependent mod) is the cause.

A dependent mod is loading before CreativeCore is available, or you have a CreativeCore build that doesn't match what that mod expects. Make sure CreativeCore is present in your mods folder and that its version is compatible with the dependent mod's requirements.
Can I use CreativeCore with other library mods like Forge or Fabric API?
CreativeCore is a Forge-side library and coexists with other libraries as long as each dependent mod's own requirements are met. Conflicts usually come from two mods needing incompatible CreativeCore versions, not from CreativeCore itself fighting another library.
Why do my crafting screens or custom recipes from a dependent mod look broken?
CreativeCore supplies the GUI and recipe APIs those mods use, so a mismatch or missing CreativeCore breaks the rendering and recipe logic. Update CreativeCore to the version your dependent mod expects and check that no other mod is overriding the same recipe or GUI handlers.
What is the InfoStack system and do I ever interact with it as a player?
InfoStack is CreativeCore's internal way of grouping item stacks uniformly so dependent mods can compare and handle them consistently. It's not something you configure in-game; you only notice it indirectly through how those mods treat similar items.
Does CreativeCore affect performance or cause lag?
CreativeCore itself is lightweight since it's mostly shared code, but the mods using it (like
LittleTiles with its complex block rendering) can be heavy. If you see lag, look at the dependent mods' features rather than CreativeCore.

CreativeCore is a library, so there's little for a player to configure directly; its behavior is driven by the mods that depend on it. If a dependent mod exposes options, change those instead of looking for CreativeCore settings.
Will removing CreativeCore break my existing world or saved builds?
Removing CreativeCore while dependent mods are still installed will crash the game or corrupt their content, since those mods can't function without it. Remove the dependent mods first, or keep CreativeCore installed to preserve your world.
What does CreativeCore actually do for me as a player?
On its own, CreativeCore adds almost nothing you can see or craft — it's a library that other mods (
LittleTiles,
ItemPhysic, RandomAdditions, CraftingManager) depend on to work. If you installed it expecting new blocks or items, that's the wrong expectation; it's the engine under the hood of those mods.

You don't interact with it directly — you use the mods that require it. Install CreativeCore alongside one of its dependent mods (like
LittleTiles), and CreativeCore's APIs will handle
things like GUIs, packets, and recipes behind the scenes.

No. CreativeCore is a core/library mod, meaning it has no meaningful standalone gameplay. It only becomes useful when another mod that lists it as a dependency is also installed.
Why does CreativeCore show up in my mod list but I never see anything from it?
Because it's a dependency, not a content mod. It provides shared code (GUI API, packet system, recipe system, event system, fake world, InfoStack) that other mods call into, so it has no visible blocks or items of its own.
Do I need CreativeCore if I don't use littletiles or itemphysic?
Only if some other installed mod declares it as a required dependency. If nothing in your modpack depends on it, you can safely remove it — but check your mod list first, since removing it will crash any mod that needs it.
CreativeCore missing error on startup, how do I fix it?
That error means a mod in your pack requires CreativeCore but it isn't installed or isn't loading. Add CreativeCore to your mods folder (matching your Minecraft/loader version) and make sure it isn't being blocked by a version mismatch or a duplicate jar.
Can I remove CreativeCore to fix lag or crashes?
Only if no other mod depends on it. Removing a core mod that something else requires will cause a hard crash on startup, so check your dependent mods before deleting it.
Does CreativeCore cause performance problems?
CreativeCore itself is lightweight — it's a library, not a content mod, so it doesn't add world-gen, entities, or ticking blocks. If you're seeing lag, it's almost always coming from the dependent mods (like
LittleTiles with lots of custom shapes), not CreativeCore.

Install both.
LittleTiles is the content mod that gives you the blocks and tools; CreativeCore is the library
LittleTiles needs to run. Installing
LittleTiles alone will crash, and installing CreativeCore alone gives you nothing to play with.

If your dependent mods (
LittleTiles,
ItemPhysic, etc.) load without a 'missing dependency' crash and their features work in-game, CreativeCore is doing its job. There's no in-game menu or item to check because it has no player-facing content.
