Understand How Ship Rotation Displays on the Map
Rotation Representation
When your airship tilts, turns, or banks in the 3D world, the mod calculates its exact rotation and displays it accurately on both the minimap and world map. You'll see your ship's orientation change as you steer, giving you a perfect top-down perspective of which direction your craft is facing.
Visual Feedback
The rotation display helps you:
- Confirm your ship is turning correctly when you apply steering inputs
- Align your airship with terrain features or landing zones
- Coordinate with other pilots by seeing their ships' headings
- Debug contraption behavior by watching how the ship responds to control inputs
Practical Use
When landing or docking, watch the map to ensure your ship is oriented correctly before touching down. The live rotation updates mean you can make fine adjustments to your heading while viewing the map, then switch back to first-person view for precise landing. This is especially useful for large or complex airships where visibility is limited from the pilot's seat.
