Create Xaero’s Map Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get my airship to show up on the map?
Build your airship using Create: Aeronautics contraptions and get it moving—the mod automatically detects flying machines within your render distance and displays them on both Xaero's Minimap and World Map. Make sure you have both Create: Aeronautics and Xaero's Map mods installed and enabled.
Why isn't my ship appearing on Xaero's map?
Check that the airship is actually moving or assembled as a contraption; stationary structures may not render. Also verify the ship is within your render distance and that both mods are properly loaded—you can test by flying closer to the contraption or checking your mod list.
Does the map show the exact blocks I used to build my ship?
Yes, the mod renders your ship's actual block composition on the map using standard Minecraft map colors and shading, so a ship built from oak wood and iron will look like those materials from above.
How does rotation work when my airship tilts?
The map display updates in real-time to match your ship's pitch, yaw, and roll in 3D space, giving you a top-down view that rotates and tilts along with your contraption as you steer it.
Can I track multiple airships at once?
Yes, the mod can display multiple flying machines simultaneously on your map as long as they're all within render distance; performance remains smooth even with many large contraptions flying at the same time.
Will this mod work with my other Xaero's mods?
This mod is designed to integrate with both Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map, so it works alongside those mods without conflicts.
Does the minimap update faster than the world map?
Both the minimap and world map update in real-time at the same rate, so you'll see your ship's position and rotation change instantly on either display.
What happens if my airship goes outside render distance?
The ship will no longer appear on the map once it leaves your render distance, since the mod can only track contraptions it can actively see.
Can I use this mod in multiplayer?
Yes, you can track airships in multiplayer servers; each player's client will display moving contraptions within their own render distance.
Does this mod affect my FPS or server performance?
The mod is optimized to run smoothly even with massive contraptions, though extremely large ships or many simultaneous flying machines may have minor performance impact depending on your system.
