Create and Manage Virtual Crates

Understanding Virtual Crates

Virtual crates don't exist as physical blocks—they're accessed through menus and commands. They're ideal for:

  • Seasonal or limited-time crates
  • Reward crates from completing challenges
  • Cosmetic or special event crates
  • Reducing server lag from many block entities

Setting Up a Virtual Crate

1. Define the virtual crate in your config file with a unique name and crate type

2. Add prizes and their drop rates

3. Give players virtual keys using admin commands or plugins that hook into Crazy Crates

4. Players check their key balance with /key

5. Players open the crate through /cc menu to browse available virtual crates

6. When opened, the animation plays and prizes are added to inventory

Transferring Keys Between Players

Use /cc transfer <crate> <player> <amount> to send virtual keys to another player. This requires the crazycrates.command.player.transfer permission and works only with virtual keys, making it useful for gifting or trading within your community.
