Crazy Crates Plugin FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I create my first crate?
Use `/cc additem ` to add rewards to a crate, then place the physical crate block in the world. You can also create virtual crates through the crate config file, which players access via `/cc` menu without needing a physical block.
What's the difference between physical and virtual crates?
Physical crates are blocks placed in your world that players right-click to open, while virtual crates exist only in menus and players access them through `/cc`. Both use the same key system and can contain identical prizes.
How do I give players keys?
You can give physical keys as items or virtual keys through commands with admin permissions. Players can check their key balance with `/key` and transfer virtual keys to other players using `/cc transfer `.
Can I customize what animation plays when someone opens a crate?
Yes, each of the 10 crate types has different animations built-in, and you can customize animations and appearance through the crate config file for each crate individually.
What happens if a player doesn't have a key when they try to open a crate?
The crate won't open and the player will need to obtain a key first. You control whether keys are required for specific crates through your config settings.
Can I add custom items as prizes?
Yes, use `/cc additem ` to add custom items to any crate. You can add unlimited different prizes to the same crate, and each prize can have custom names, lore, and enchantments.
How many crates can I create?
You can create unlimited crates on your server. Each crate can have its own type, animation style, and prize pool.
Do players need a special permission to use crates?
Players need `crazycrates.command.player.key` to check keys and `crazycrates.command.player.menu` to open the crate menu. Opening physical crates typically requires no permission, but you can restrict this through your permission plugin.
Can I see what's inside a crate before opening it?
Players can preview available prizes for each crate through the `/cc` menu, which shows all possible rewards before they spend a key.
What should I do if crates aren't working after I set them up?
Check that your crate config file is properly formatted, verify players have the required permissions, and ensure keys are actually in their inventory. Reload the plugin or restart your server if changes aren't taking effect.
