How to Read the Crash Assistant Screen After Minecraft Crashes

When Minecraft crashes with Crash Assistant installed, the game doesn't just close silently — it opens a dedicated window that gathers everything you need in one place. Knowing what each part of that screen does saves you from digging through folders manually.

What You'll See

The crash screen is split into sections. At the top is a summary of the crash, followed by the analyzed log output. Below that you'll find tabs or panels for the individual files: the crash report, the latest game log, and any other logs the mod collected. A button to upload everything sits prominently on the screen, and there's usually a button to open the folder containing the logs on your disk.

Steps to Use It

1.

2. Read the analysis section first — it highlights the suspected cause in plain language, such as a missing dependency or an out-of-memory error.

3. Click through the log tabs to see the raw text if the analysis isn't specific enough.

4. Use the open-folder button if you want to keep a copy of the logs before closing the window.

5. If you plan to ask for help, use the upload button before dismissing the screen — once it's closed, you'll have to find the logs manually.

Reading the analysis before the raw logs usually points you straight at the fix.
