Crampedness Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to install this on the server?
No. Crampedness Mod runs entirely on your client side, so you can use it on any multiplayer server without asking admins to install anything.
Why do my held items keep retracting when I don't want them to?
Items retract whenever you're close to walls, solid blocks, mobs, or other players. If this feels too aggressive, check that you're not standing directly against obstacles—the animation responds to proximity.
Does this affect my reach distance or ability to break blocks?
No. The mod only changes how items appear in your first-person view; your actual reach distance, block-breaking speed, and hitboxes remain completely unchanged.
How do I stop the animation while I'm mining?
The mod automatically lowers the retraction effect whenever you swing a tool or mine a block, so your view stays clear while you work.
Can I use this with weapon mods?
Yes. Crampedness Mod is designed to work alongside weapon mods like Punchy and Vic's Point Blank without visual conflicts.
What happens when I eat food or use a bow?
The animation pauses while you're eating food or aiming a bow, so these actions won't be interrupted by item retraction.
Does this work if I play left-handed?
Yes. The mod supports left-handed play and each hand animates independently without visual glitches.
Why aren't my hands retracting near certain blocks?
The mod only retracts items near solid blocks and obstacles; transparent or non-solid blocks like glass, water, or air don't trigger the effect.
Do maps and empty hands get affected?
No. Maps and empty hands keep their normal view and are not affected by the retraction animation.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Crampedness Mod is lightweight and client-side only, so it has minimal impact on performance even in multiplayer or large worlds.
