Prevent Griefing with Protection Plugins
Choose a Protection Plugin
Griefing protection plugins let you define safe zones where only authorized players can build or destroy blocks. Install your chosen protection plugin into the plugins folder and restart the server.
Create Protected Regions
Most protection plugins use commands to define rectangular or cuboid regions. Stand at one corner of the area you want to protect, use the plugin's selection tool (usually a specific item or command), then mark the opposite corner. Name the region and confirm creation. The plugin saves these regions to a data file.
Set Region Permissions
Configure who can build, break blocks, or interact with containers in each region. You can allow specific players, groups, or make regions public. Most plugins let you set these rules via commands like /region flag or similar, adjusting settings for members, guests, and outsiders.
Test Your Protection
Have a non-authorized player attempt to break a block or place one in the protected area. They should be blocked with a message. Authorized players should build freely. Adjust permissions if needed using the plugin's configuration commands.
