Getting Saplings Without Finding Trees (Craftable Saplings Mod)

Why This Matters

Normally you need to find and chop a tree to get its sapling, which is painful for rare biomes like dark oak, jungle, acacia, or cherry. With this mod you can skip the search entirely as long as you can get your hands on the leaves.

Where to Get Leaves Without the Tree

• Village and structure loot: leaf blocks rarely appear, but saplings sometimes do — reverse the recipe is not possible, so focus on leaves.
• Trading: some wandering traders and villagers offer saplings directly, but leaves are harder. If you already have one sapling of a type, grow it, then shear its leaves to make more saplings.
• Bonus chests and loot tables: leaves occasionally spawn in chests in wooded structures.
• Other players / servers: ask for a single leaf block; one leaf plus one stick equals one sapling, so a single leaf is enough to bootstrap an entire farm.

Bootstrapping a Rare Tree

1. Obtain one leaf block of the target tree by any means.

2. Craft it with a stick into a sapling.

3. Plant and grow the sapling (use bone meal to speed it up).

4. Shear the grown tree's leaves to get many leaf blocks.

5. Craft each leaf block with a stick to produce a large batch of saplings.

This turns a single leaf into an unlimited sapling supply, which is the main convenience the mod offers.
