Craftable Saplings Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft a sapling in the Craftable Saplings Mod?
Place a stick and the matching leaf block type in a crafting grid to produce that sapling. The leaf type determines which sapling you get, so oak leaves give an oak sapling and so on.
Does the recipe work with any leaf block, or only naturally generated ones?
Any leaf block of the correct type works, including leaves you've placed or grown yourself. You don't need to find a naturally generated tree to get the matching sapling.
Can I craft Nether fungi like crimson and warped fungus?
Yes, the mod covers fungi as well as overworld saplings. Use a stick with the corresponding fungus stem or wart block type to craft the fungus item.
What's the fastest way to get a sapling I'm missing?
Grab a stick and any leaf block of the type you want, then craft it directly in your inventory grid. This skips the need to find and chop a tree of that species.
Why isn't my sapling recipe showing up in the crafting grid?
Make sure you're using the exact leaf type that matches the sapling you want, and that the stick is in the correct slot arrangement. Mixing leaf types or using a different wood's leaves will not produce the sapling.
Can I turn saplings back into leaves or sticks?
The mod is designed for crafting saplings from leaves and sticks, not the reverse. Check your recipe book or JEI/REI for any reverse recipes if your pack adds them.
Does this mod work with modded trees and saplings?
Compatibility depends on whether the mod's recipe system recognizes the modded leaf and sapling items. Many popular modded trees work if their leaves are tagged correctly, but some may not.
Will Craftable Saplings cause lag or performance issues?
No, it only adds crafting recipes and doesn't add world generation or ticking blocks. Performance impact is negligible on its own.
Can I use this mod on a server with friends?
Yes, as long as the mod is installed on the server and clients that need the recipes. Recipe-based mods like this generally work fine in multiplayer.
Do I need to find a tree first to get its sapling?
No, that's the main point of the mod. As long as you have any leaf block of that type, you can craft the sapling without ever finding the tree.
