Why Your Curios Items Are on Your Corpse Instead of Dropping on the Ground

What This Mod Changes

Without this compatibility mod, Curios-equipped items can behave inconsistently on death — sometimes dropping as loose entities, sometimes vanishing, depending on load order and mod versions. With it installed, the Corpse mod treats Curios slots as part of your inventory, so those items are written directly into the corpse's storage when you die. That means no scattered item entities to chase down and no risk of them burning in lava or despawning before you return.

What Still Drops Normally

Only items in Curios-managed slots are redirected to the corpse. Anything in your main inventory, hotbar, or armor slots follows whatever behavior your Corpse mod configuration already uses. If you have other mods that add their own equipment slots outside of Curios, those are not covered by this compat and may still drop or be lost.

Verifying It Is Working

Die somewhere safe with a cheap Curios item equipped, then check the corpse. If the item appears inside the corpse's inventory grid, the integration is active. If it dropped on the ground instead, the compat mod is likely not loaded or is being overridden by another death-handling mod.
