Corpse X Curios API Compat Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to install anything besides this mod for it to work?
Yes, this is a compatibility bridge, so you need both the Corpse mod and the Curios API installed alongside it. If either of those is missing, the mod will not do anything.
How do I know the mod is actually working?
Die with an item equipped in a Curios slot and check your corpse's inventory. If the Curios item shows up in the corpse's storage instead of dropping on the ground, the integration is functioning.
Why did my Curios items end up on my corpse instead of dropping?
That is the entire point of this mod: it routes Curios slot contents into the corpse's inventory on death rather than letting them scatter on the ground. Without it, Curios items would normally drop as loose entities.
How do I get my Curios items back after dying?
Find your corpse, open its inventory, and move the Curios items back into your own inventory. Then re-equip them into their proper Curios slots, since they will not auto-equip on pickup.
Can I re-equip all my Curios at once, or do I have to do it one by one?
You have to place each item back into its matching Curios slot manually. There is no built-in auto-equip button, so open your Curios inventory screen and drag each item to the correct slot.
My Curios items are not showing up on my corpse at all. What is wrong?
Make sure the Curios API is actually loaded and that the item is genuinely in a Curios slot, not just your regular inventory. If the item was in a normal inventory slot when you died, this mod does not handle it.
Does this mod work with other Curios addons and slot-expanding mods?
It works with anything that registers slots through the Curios API, since it hooks into that system rather than specific items. Custom slot types added by other mods should be transferred to the corpse the same way.
Will this mod conflict with mods that change how death drops work?
It can conflict with mods that override death handling or corpse creation, since both may try to move the same items. If you use a grave or death-chest mod alongside Corpse, test carefully to avoid duplicated or lost items.
Does keeping Curios items on the corpse affect performance?
No, the mod only runs logic at the moment of death and when the corpse inventory is accessed, so it has no ongoing tick cost. Performance impact is negligible even with many Curios slots filled.
What happens if I die again before retrieving my first corpse?
Each death creates its own corpse with its own stored Curios items, so you can have multiple corpses holding gear at once. Retrieve them before they despawn according to your Corpse mod's configured timer.
