Fixing Curios Items That Do Not Appear on Your Corpse

Confirm the Compat Mod Is Loaded

If Curios items are dropping on the ground or disappearing instead of appearing on your corpse, the first thing to check is whether this compatibility mod is actually present and enabled in your mod list. It must load alongside both the Corpse mod and the Curios API. If any of the three is missing or disabled, the integration cannot function.

Check for Conflicting Death Mods

Other mods that intercept player death and handle inventory (grave mods, keep-inventory mods, or alternative corpse systems) can take priority and bypass this integration. If you run more than one death-handling mod, disable or configure the others so the Corpse mod is the one managing your drops. Load order can also matter — the compat mod should load after both Corpse and Curios.

Test in a Safe Way

Create a test scenario in a creative or backup world: equip a single Curios item, die deliberately, and inspect the corpse. If the item is there, the setup is correct. If not, remove other death-related mods one at a time until the behavior changes, which will identify the conflict. Remember that only genuine Curios slots are covered — items in slots added by unrelated mods will not be redirected.
