Cooldown Coordinator Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything to make this mod work?
No—Cooldown Coordinator works automatically once installed. Vanilla hoppers will coordinate with modded blocks that implement the interface without any configuration needed.
Why are items still getting stuck between my hoppers and modded ducts?
Items can still jam if the modded block doesn't implement Cooldown Coordinator's interface. Check the mod's documentation to confirm compatibility, or contact the modded block's developer if it doesn't coordinate properly.
Does this mod slow down item transfer?
No—Cooldown Coordinator synchronizes cooldowns between blocks to prevent item loss and stuttering, but doesn't reduce transfer speed compared to vanilla hoppers working alone.
Can I use this with any modded hopper?
Modded hoppers that extend vanilla HopperBlockEntity and don't override its insert() and transfer() methods will automatically coordinate. Custom hoppers with heavily modified code may not be compatible.
What happens if a modded block doesn't implement the interface?
Items will transfer normally, but that block won't coordinate cooldowns with other blocks—you may see items bounce back or get stuck at that point in your network.
Does Cooldown Coordinator work with item sorters?
Yes—it's designed specifically for this. Mixed sorters using vanilla hoppers and modded blocks will now behave predictably and move items consistently without jamming.
Can I use this mod on a server?
Yes, Cooldown Coordinator is a library mod that works on both single-player and multiplayer servers without special setup.
Does this mod require other mods to work?
No—it's a standalone library. It works best when other mods implement its interface, but functions fine on its own with vanilla hoppers.
Why are my item rates inconsistent even with this mod installed?
Check that all blocks in your network implement the interface (see the mod's compatibility list). If some blocks don't coordinate, those points will create bottlenecks.
Does this mod affect performance?
Cooldown Coordinator has minimal performance impact—it only adds coordination logic when items transfer between blocks, and is optimized to avoid lag in large networks.
