Connected Paths Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need OptiFine or continuity to use this mod?
Yes, you need either Continuity or OptiFine installed to actually render the connected textures in your game. Connected Paths Mod generates the texture files, but one of these mods is required to display them.
Why am I still seeing missing block errors in my log?
Make sure the generated resource packs are arranged above any conflicting texture packs in your active resource pack list. If errors persist, try regenerating the textures by reloading the mod with your current mod list.
How do I know if the mod is actually working?
Load into your world and look at path or brick blocks next to different terrain types—you should see smooth transitions and connected edges instead of hard borders between blocks. Check your resource packs menu to confirm the generated texture packs are active and positioned correctly.
Can I use this mod with mods that aren't on the supported list?
The mod scans your installed mods and generates textures for compatible blocks it finds, so it may work with unsupported mods, but those blocks won't have connected textures. Stick to the supported mod list for guaranteed connected texture coverage.
What happens if I add or remove mods after installing this?
You should reload or restart your game to let Connected Paths Mod rescan your mod list and regenerate the texture packs accordingly. This prevents mismatches between your active mods and the generated textures.
Why are my connected textures not showing even though the resource pack is active?
Verify that Continuity or OptiFine is installed and enabled, and check that the generated resource pack is positioned above other texture packs in your list. If using OptiFine, make sure connected textures are enabled in the video settings.
Does this mod affect performance or fps?
Connected Paths Mod only generates textures once and doesn't add runtime overhead, so it shouldn't impact FPS. The actual rendering of connected textures depends on your Continuity or OptiFine settings.
Can I manually edit the generated texture packs?
You can edit the generated resource pack files after they're created, but regenerating the mod will overwrite your changes. For permanent customization, consider creating a separate resource pack that layers on top.
Why do some blocks blend and others don't?
Only path, brick, and rock blocks have connected textures generated by this mod. Other block types won't blend even if they're from supported mods.
Do I need to do anything special for dimension mods like nether or end variants?
No—the mod works with popular dimension and world generation mods out of the box. Just install it alongside your dimension mods and the textures will generate automatically.
