Connected Glasses Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why isn't my glass connecting?
Glass only connects when blocks are directly adjacent to each other. Make sure there are no gaps, air blocks, or other blocks between your glass panes. If you're mixing glass types (regular glass and stained glass), they won't connect to each other—only matching types connect.
Does this work with stained glass?
Yes, stained glass blocks connect seamlessly just like regular glass. Each stained glass color connects only to other blocks of the same color, so you can build clean monochromatic glass structures with any stained glass variant.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
This pack can conflict with other resource packs that modify glass textures. Load Connected Glasses Resource Pack lower in your resource pack list (higher priority) than conflicting packs, or use only this pack for glass to avoid visual inconsistencies.
Does connected glass affect performance?
No, this is a purely visual resource pack with no impact on game performance or FPS. It only changes how glass textures are displayed, not how the game processes blocks.
How do I make a seamless window?
Place glass blocks adjacent to each other without gaps or interruptions. The connected textures will automatically blend the edges where blocks touch, creating a smooth, unified window surface instead of the vanilla grid pattern.
Does this work in multiplayer?
Yes, this is a client-side resource pack, so it works on any server without requiring the server to have it installed. Other players will see vanilla glass, but you'll see the connected version.
Can I use this with shaders?
Yes, connected glass works alongside most shader packs. The resource pack handles texture blending while shaders add lighting effects, so they're compatible as long as neither pack heavily modifies glass textures.
What if I want glass to NOT connect in certain places?
Place a different block type between glass sections—even a thin frame of wood, stone, or metal will break the connection and create intentional visual separation where you want it.
Does this work with tinted glass?
Yes, tinted glass connects seamlessly like all other glass types. It will blend with adjacent tinted glass blocks to create smooth, unified dark glass surfaces.
Do I need to enable anything in settings?
No setup is required—once the resource pack is loaded, connected glass works automatically. Just activate it in your resource pack menu and it applies to all glass blocks in your world.
