How to Find a Specific Setting in Configured Mod
Large mods can have dozens of config entries, and scrolling through all of them is painful. Configured gives you a few ways to narrow things down.
Using Search and Categories
1. Open the Configured screen from the main menu (Mods → Config/Settings).
2. Pick the mod you want to configure.
3. If a search field is present at the top of the config screen, type a keyword from the setting you are looking for — for example part of the option's name or the feature it controls.
4. If there is no search, use the category list on the left. Categories mirror the mod's own config structure, so a mod that adds world generation will usually have a "World" or "Generation" category, while client-side visuals live under "Client" or "Rendering".
5. Expand a category and read the option labels. Each option usually has a tooltip — hover over it to see a description of what the setting does and its allowed range.
When You Cannot Find It
- Some options only appear in certain categories or are hidden unless an "advanced" or "expert" toggle is enabled.
- If a setting genuinely is not there, the mod may not expose it through Configured — check whether the mod has its own in-game config screen or only a raw file.
- Remember that client configs and common/server configs are often listed as separate entries for the same mod, so check both.
