How to Set Up the configureddefaults Folder for Your Modpack
The Configured Defaults mod reads from a folder called configureddefaults that sits at the root of your game or server directory, right next to the config folder. Anything you place inside it mirrors the structure of your actual game directory, and the mod copies files across when they are missing.
Building the Folder Structure
Create configureddefaults in your instance root. Inside it, recreate the exact paths your files need to land in. For example, a mod config that normally lives at config/somemod-common.toml should be placed at configureddefaults/config/somemod-common.toml. Files that belong directly in the root, such as options.txt, go straight into configureddefaults/options.txt with no subfolder.
What to Put In It
Copy the config files you have already tuned to your liking into the matching paths. You can include whole folders, so packing an entire config directory works if you want blanket coverage. The mod only copies files that are absent, so it never overwrites settings a player has already changed.
Testing
Delete the corresponding file from your live game directory, launch the game, and confirm the mod restores it from configureddefaults. If nothing appears, double-check that the folder name and internal paths match exactly, since a typo in a path means the file is simply never found.
