Configuring Mob Potion Effects

How to Configure Mob Potion Effects

This server-side mod assigns potion effects to mobs through two config files, found in ./config/configurablemobpotioneffects/.

permanenteffects.txt — gives a mob a constant potion effect. Set the effect level for the mob you want; level 0 means no effect.

ondamageeffects.txt — defines effects a mob applies to whatever it damages. This lets mobs inflict potion effects on players or other entities when they land a hit.

Both files auto-generate with every available entity and effect listed at level 0, so nothing happens until you change a value. Edit the level for the mob and effect you want, then run /cmpe reload to apply your changes without restarting the game.

For example, you can raise a mob's Speed level to make it faster, or set an on-damage effect so a mob inflicts a potion effect on hit. The mod stays inactive until you configure it.
