Slow Down Furnace Smelting for Survival Difficulty

Why Slow Smelting?

You might want to increase smelting time to make survival mode more challenging, or to balance progression in your world. This mod lets you do that easily.

Configuring a Higher Burn Time

Open the mod's configuration through Mod Menu (pause menu → Mod Menu → Configurable Furnace Burn Time) or by editing the config file directly in your config folder.

Set the burn time modifier to a value greater than 1.0. For example:

• 1.5 makes smelting 50% slower
• 2.0 doubles the time needed
• 3.0 triples it

Higher values mean furnaces take longer to process each item, making resource gathering feel more deliberate.

Save your changes. If using Mod Menu, the update is instant. If editing the config file, restart your game.

Your furnaces will now operate at the slower rate you've set, giving you more time between harvesting and having usable materials.
