How do I change the furnace burn time after installing the mod?
Open Mod Menu in-game and find Configurable Furnace Burn Time in the mods list, then adjust the burn time modifier value. If you don't have Mod Menu installed, you can edit the config file directly in your config folder with any text editor.
What does setting the modifier to 0.5 actually do?
Setting it to 0.5 makes all items smelt twice as fast, since they burn for 50% of the normal time. Lower numbers = faster smelting, higher numbers = slower smelting.
Can I make furnaces smelt items instantly?
You can set the modifier very low (close to 0) to make smelting nearly instant, but setting it to exactly 0 will prevent items from smelting at all. A value like 0.1 will give you very fast smelting without breaking the mechanic.
Does this mod affect blast furnaces and smokers too?
Yes, the burn time modifier applies to all furnace-type blocks including blast furnaces and smokers, since they all use the same smelting system.
Where is the config file located?
The config file is in your `.minecraft/config` folder. Look for the Configurable Furnace Burn Time config file and open it with a text editor to change the modifier value.
I changed the config but the furnace speed didn't change. What's wrong?
Make sure you saved the config file after editing it, then restart your game or reload the world for changes to take effect. If using Mod Menu, apply the changes before closing the settings screen.
Can I set different burn times for different furnace types?
This mod applies one global modifier to all furnaces. If you need different speeds for different furnace types, you would need a different mod or a more advanced configuration system.
Does this mod work with other mods that add custom furnaces?
It depends on how the custom furnace is coded. If it uses the standard Minecraft furnace smelting system, the modifier will apply to it. Custom furnaces with unique smelting systems may not be affected.
What's the default burn time modifier if I don't change anything?
The default is 1.0, which means furnaces smelt at vanilla speed. You only need to change it if you want faster or slower smelting.
Can I use this mod on a multiplayer server?
Yes, but all players will use the server's configured burn time value. The server administrator sets the modifier in the server's config file, and it applies to everyone.
