Using Conduits to Make Ocean Monuments and Drowned Farms Safer
The Problem With Monument Runs
Ocean monuments and drowned-heavy areas are dangerous because drowned spawn constantly in the surrounding water. If you are raiding a monument or building a farm nearby, you can use a conduit to keep the area around you clear while you work.
Setting Up a Safe Work Zone
1. Bring a conduit and enough prismarine blocks to build a full frame. Place it in open water near your work area.
2. Activate the conduit and confirm the effect icon appears. From this point, drowned spawns within the configured range of you are suppressed.
3. Work inside the effect radius. If you swim too far, suppression stops and drowned can spawn behind you.
4. For farms where you *want* drowned, either step outside the effect radius or lower preventDrownedInRange so distant spawns still happen.
Combining With Other Safety Measures
Conduits also grant water breathing and night vision, so a single conduit covers breathing, visibility, and mob suppression at once. Pair it with a respawn anchor or bed nearby so a mistake does not send you far away.
Caveats
The mod only blocks drowned, not other hostile mobs. Guardians in monuments are unaffected. Plan your route so you are not relying on the conduit to stop everything.
