Tuning the preventDrownedInRange Config Value

What the Setting Does

The preventDrownedInRange option controls how far from a player with the conduit effect the mod will block drowned spawns. It is measured as a Euclidean (straight-line) distance in blocks. The default value is very large, which effectively covers everything near you.

When to Change It

  • Lower it if you want drowned to still appear in distant ocean areas while you are near your base, for farming or ambiance.
  • Raise it if you have a sprawling underwater complex and want extra safety margin, though the default already covers a huge area.
  • Leave it alone if you just want drowned gone near you — the default is designed for that.

How to Edit It

1. Locate the mod's config file in your instance's config folder.

2. Open it with a text editor and find the preventDrownedInRange entry.

3. Change the number to your preferred distance in blocks.

4. Save the file and restart the game so the value loads.

Things to Remember

The check is straight-line distance, not pathfinding distance, so a drowned on the other side of a wall still counts. The setting only matters while you have the conduit effect — without it, the mod does nothing.
