How to Stop Drowned From Spawning Around Your Underwater Base
Why Drowned Keep Appearing
Drowned spawn in dark water and on the ocean floor regardless of how well you light your base interior. The mod only suppresses them when the conduit effect is actually active on you, so the first job is making sure that effect is running whenever you are home.
Steps to Lock Down Your Base
1. Build a full conduit frame using the standard prismarine block arrangement and place the conduit in the center. Confirm the conduit is fully powered (the eye should be open and the effect icon should appear in your HUD).
2. Stay within the conduit's effect radius while you work. If you wander outside it, drowned suppression stops and mobs can spawn again.
3. Check that your base is submerged enough for the conduit to function. Conduits need water contact around the frame to activate.
4. If you have multiple rooms or an outer perimeter, place additional conduits so the effect covers the whole area you care about.
5. Test by standing still in a dark corner at night and watching for spawns. If drowned still appear, you are likely outside the effect radius or the conduit lost power.
What the Mod Actually Changes
The mod checks the distance between a drowned spawn attempt and any player with the conduit effect. If that distance is within the configured range, the spawn is cancelled. This means you personally need the effect active — a conduit running in an empty base does nothing while you are away.
