How to Keep Your Colony Stocked Automatically with the Stock Keeper
What the Stock Keeper Does
The Stock Keeper for Colonist lets you define minimum stock levels for items so your colony automatically requests or crafts replacements when supplies run low. It ties into the MineColonies request system, so your warehouse and crafters respond to shortages without you micromanaging.
Setting Up Stock Rules
1. Place the Stock Keeper and connect it to your AE2 network the same way as other colony network blocks.
2. Open its interface and add entries for the items you want maintained.
3. For each entry, set the quantity you want kept on hand. When the stored amount drops below that threshold, a request is generated.
4. Assign the request to the appropriate hut — for example, a crafter hut for crafted goods, or a delivery request for items you import.
Practical Tips
- Keep thresholds modest at first so you do not flood your colonists with overlapping requests.
- Pair it with the Common Network Storage so the keeper can actually see current counts.
- Use it for consumables your colony burns through, like food or tools, rather than one-off building blocks.
With rules in place, your warehouse refills itself and you spend less time running supply runs.
