How to Customize Command and Subcommand Colors in Compact Help Command

Locating the Color Options

Open the mod's config file in your instance's config folder. You will find two keys: commandColour and subcommandColour. These control how top-level commands and their subcommands are tinted in the /help output, making it easier to scan long lists at a glance.

Choosing a Color

The mod supports the 16 standard Minecraft chat colors (black, dark blue, dark green, dark aqua, dark red, dark purple, gold, gray, dark gray, blue, green, aqua, red, light purple, yellow, white). Enter the color name exactly as written — for example, gold for commands and aqua for subcommands. Pick colors that contrast with your chat background so text stays readable. Avoid pairing two similar shades like gray and dark gray; the distinction will be hard to see.

Verifying the Result

Save the config and restart the game (or reload if supported). Run /help and check that commands and subcommands render in your chosen colors. Then try /help <command> for a specific command — the cleaner detail view should also respect your color choices. If a color name is misspelled, the mod will likely fall back to a default, so re-check spelling if the tint looks wrong.
