Load the Classic Preset

ComBit includes a built-in 1.8.9 preset that restores Minecraft's older combat mechanics in one step.

1. Open your mod configuration menu (usually accessible from the main menu or pause screen)

2. Navigate to ComBit settings

3. Look for the Presets or Load Preset option

4. Select 1.8.9 from the available presets

5. Confirm the changes

What This Changes

The 1.8.9 preset adjusts multiple combat settings simultaneously to match classic PvP behavior. This typically includes modifications to attack cooldowns, invincibility frame behavior, and damage mechanics. You don't need to configure each setting individually—the preset handles it all.

If you want to fine-tune further after loading the preset, you can still adjust individual settings. Any manual changes will override the preset values for those specific options.

Verify Your Settings

After loading, check that combat feels responsive. Test by attacking mobs or in creative mode to confirm the cooldown and damage behavior matches your expectations.
