How to Change the Combat Roll Keybind and Fix Rolls Not Working
Rebinding the Roll Key
If R conflicts with another mod or your inventory key, open the controls menu and search for the Combat Roll entry, then assign a new key. Pick something easy to reach with your movement hand, like a side mouse button or a key near WASD, so you can dodge without moving your fingers off movement.
After rebinding, test the roll in a safe area to confirm it triggers.
Troubleshooting Rolls That Do Not Fire
If pressing the key does nothing, check these common causes:
- Key conflict — another mod or vanilla action may be bound to the same key; change one of them.
- Wrong context — some actions (like being in a GUI or riding a vehicle) block rolling.
If rolls feel sluggish, confirm your armor pieces actually carry the enchantments — an unenchanted set uses the default, longer cooldown. Recheck each slot (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) since the enchantments are slot-specific and easy to mix up.
