Combat Roll Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I roll in Combat Roll Mod?
Press the R key by default to perform a roll in the direction you're moving or looking. You can roll forward, backward, or sideways, and the roll gives you a brief burst of movement that lets you dodge attacks.
Why isn't my roll working?
Check that the R key isn't already bound to another action in your controls, and make sure you're not still on cooldown from your last roll. If you rebound the key, confirm the change saved in the controls menu.
How do I change the roll keybind?
Open Options, go to Controls, and look for the Combat Roll keybind entry to assign a new key. If the roll still doesn't trigger afterward, check for conflicts with other mods using the same key.
How long is the roll cooldown and how do I reduce it?
By default you must wait a few seconds between rolls. The Multi-Roll, Acrobat, and Longfooted enchantments each reduce the cooldown, letting you roll more frequently when applied to the matching armor pieces.
What does the Multi-Roll enchantment do?
Multi-Roll is applied to helmets and reduces your roll cooldown, allowing you to roll again sooner. It's one of three enchantments in the mod that improve your dodge frequency.
What does the Acrobat enchantment do?
Acrobat goes on chestplates and leggings and lowers the roll cooldown. Stacking it with the other roll enchantments lets you chain rolls much more often.
What does the Longfooted enchantment do?
Longfooted is applied to boots and reduces the roll cooldown like the other two enchantments. Wearing all three enchanted pieces gives the biggest reduction in wait time between rolls.
Can I roll in midair or while falling?
The roll is primarily a ground movement, so it won't behave the same way in the air. Use it on solid ground to dodge attacks or cross gaps, and time your rolls so you land on solid footing.
Does Combat Roll Mod work with other movement or combat mods?
It generally works alongside other mods, but keybind conflicts are the most common issue. If another mod uses the same key for a dash or dodge, rebind one of them in the controls menu.
Does rolling cause lag or performance problems?
The roll itself is a lightweight movement, so it shouldn't hurt performance on its own. If you notice stuttering, check for other mods or shaders running at the same time rather than the roll ability.
