How to Change the Color of Item Tooltips in Coloured Tooltips

Find and open the config file

After launching the game once with the mod installed, a config file is generated for you. Navigate to your Minecraft instance folder, then open the config folder and locate coloredtooltips-client.toml. Open it with any plain text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, VS Code, etc.). Inside you will see a color entry that controls the default tooltip color.

Edit the ARGB value

This mod uses an ARGB hex string, meaning the first two characters set the alpha (transparency) and the remaining six set the red, green, and blue values. For example, an opaque white is written with full alpha followed by FFFFFF, while a fully transparent value would start with 00. To make tooltips a solid color, keep the alpha pair at its maximum so the text stays readable.

Replace the existing value with your chosen ARGB string, save the file, and restart Minecraft. Because this is a client-side config, the change applies to your game only and does not need to be installed on a server. If the color does not appear, double-check that you did not leave a stray space or missing character, since an invalid hex string will be ignored and the default color will be used instead.
