Use Colored Lighting with Moving Machines

Entity Shadows Setting

Colorwheel Patcher works seamlessly with animated machinery and moving entities when entity shadows are enabled. This setting allows shadows and colored light to render on moving objects like pistons, slime blocks, and other contraptions.

Enabling Entity Shadows

1. Launch the game with your patched shader active

2. Open Video Settings

3. Locate the Entity Shadows option (usually in shader-specific settings)

4. Toggle Entity Shadows ON

5. Apply the changes

What This Enables

With entity shadows active, moving machines will now receive and cast colored light dynamically. Redstone contraptions, flying machines, and animated builds will display colored lighting effects as they move through your world. This creates more immersive lighting on complex builds without performance loss.

Performance Note

Entity shadows increase GPU load slightly. If you experience frame rate drops, you can disable this setting — colored lighting will still work on static blocks, just not on moving entities.
