Coin Banks for Villager Coin Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using Coin Banks?
Place any bank block from your inventory onto the ground, then hold a stack of coins from the Villager Coin mod and right-click the bank to deposit them. The bank will store the total value of all coins you deposit.
What happens when I break a Coin Bank?
Breaking a bank with a standard pickaxe will smash it and drop your saved money as coins, distributed in the largest denominations possible. If you want to move the bank without losing the money, use a Silk Touch tool instead.
Can I move a bank with money still inside?
Yes, mine the bank with a Silk Touch enchanted tool and it will drop as an item with all the stored coins preserved inside. You can then place it down again elsewhere without losing any money.
Which bank should I use to protect my money from explosions?
Use an Obsidian or Crying Obsidian pot for blast resistance, or choose the Netherite pot if you want protection from both explosions and fire damage.
Do different colored pots store different amounts of money?
No, all pots and mob banks have the same storage capacity regardless of color or material—the only difference is appearance and durability against damage.
Can I deposit partial stacks of coins into a bank?
Yes, you can right-click a bank while holding any amount of coins, even a single coin, and it will be added to the bank's total value.
What's the difference between Piggy Banks and other mob banks?
Piggy Banks come in three climate-themed styles (Cold, Temperate, Warm) and are purely decorative variants; all mob banks function identically for storage.
Should I use one big bank or multiple smaller banks?
Multiple banks let you organize your money by purpose (spending, savings, trading) and reduce the risk of losing everything if one bank is destroyed, though they all function the same way.
Do banks work with other mods that add coins?
Banks are designed specifically for the Villager Coin mod and will only accept and store coins from that mod.
Will my bank despawn if I leave it unloaded?
No, banks are persistent blocks and will remain in place with their stored coins intact when you return to that area, just like any other block in your world.
