How do I start wall climbing?
Jump toward any vertical surface (wall, cliff face, etc.) so you make contact with it, then press your sneak key while still touching the wall. You'll stick to the surface and can climb upward.
What surfaces can I climb?
You can climb most vertical solid blocks like stone, dirt, wood, and metal. Some blocks may not work depending on their properties—test by jumping at them and sneaking.
How do I get down from a wall?
Stop pressing sneak to release from the wall and fall, or jump away from the surface. You can also simply walk off the side if you're near the top.
Can I use wall climbing to reach high places without a ladder?
Yes, wall climbing is designed to help you scale vertical terrain and structures quickly. It's especially useful for reaching caves, cliffs, and tall buildings without building your own path.
Does wall climbing work underwater?
Wall climbing mechanics may behave differently or not work as expected underwater—test it in your world to see how it interacts with water physics.
Can I wall climb while holding items or in survival mode?
Yes, wall climbing works in survival mode and you can climb while holding items. Your inventory doesn't prevent you from using the mechanic.
What's the difference between wall climbing and wall jumping?
Wall climbing lets you stick to a surface and climb continuously by holding sneak, while wall jumping uses momentum to bounce between walls. This mod's wall climbing can also function as a wall jump if you time your movement right.
Does this mod work with other movement mods?
This is a data pack rather than a mod, so compatibility depends on what other data packs or mods you're using. Test it with your other additions to check for conflicts.
Why can't I climb certain walls?
Some blocks may be too slippery, transparent, or have properties that prevent climbing. Make sure you're jumping directly into the wall surface and that sneak is properly activated.
Does wall climbing affect performance or lag?
As a data pack, it should have minimal performance impact. If you experience lag, check that you don't have too many other data packs or mods running simultaneously.
