Cobblemon Villager Overhaul Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start trading with villagers using this mod?
Find any villager that has claimed a job block (like a lectern, composter, or cartography table) and right-click them to open the new shop menu. The menu will show the Buy, Sell, and Trades tabs with all available trades for that villager.
What's the difference between the Buy, Sell, and Trades tabs?
The Buy tab shows items the villager is selling for CobbleDollars. The Sell tab lets you trade your items to the villager to earn CobbleDollars. The Trades tab handles direct item-for-item swaps that don't involve any currency.
Can I trade with wandering traders?
Yes, wandering traders work exactly like villagers with this mod—right-click them to open the shop menu and trade using CobbleDollars instead of emeralds.
Why does the shop menu stay open after I trade?
The mod keeps the shop window open so you can make multiple trades without having to click the villager repeatedly, making bulk buying or selling much faster.
How do I buy or sell a specific quantity of items?
Type the number you want directly into the quantity box, or use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the amount before clicking the trade button.
Do I still get XP from trading with villagers?
Yes, you earn normal XP points from trades, but the mod removes the floating XP orbs to keep your screen cleaner.
Can some trades cost both items and CobbleDollars at the same time?
Yes, the mod supports special trades that require both an item and a CobbleDollar payment together.
Will the shop prices be the same for everyone on my server?
Yes, the mod syncs shop prices with your server rules so all players trade at the same costs.
Does this mod work with the Radical Cobblemon Trainers addon?
Yes, if you have the Radical Cobblemon Trainers addon installed, you can also trade with Trainer Association NPCs using the same shop menu system.
What happens if a villager hasn't claimed a job block yet?
You cannot trade with unemployed villagers—they need to have claimed a job block first before the shop menu will work.
