Understanding mutation requirements

Each mutation recipe displays:

• Parent berries that must be planted nearby
• Farmland conditions needed (tilled soil, water proximity, light levels)
• The resulting berry you'll harvest

Hover over each ingredient to see detailed growth conditions and timing information.

Planning your berry farm

Use the recipe tree to map out a farming strategy. If you need multiple mutation chains, EMI shows you the full dependency tree—which berries to plant first, and how many of each parent you need. This prevents wasted farmland and speeds up breeding rare berries for cooking or potions.
