Cobblemon 3D Poke Rods Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need Optifine for the 3D poke rods to show up?
No. The pack is built to render its 3D models without Optifine or any extra graphics mods, so the rods appear as soon as the pack is active. Just make sure the Cobblemon mod itself is installed, since the pack only replaces models that the mod provides.
Why do my poke rods still look flat after I installed the pack?
The most common cause is that the resource pack is not actually enabled or is sitting below another pack that overrides the same rod models. Move this pack to the top of your resource pack list and reload, then check that Cobblemon is loaded in the same profile.
How do I make my poke rod show as a 3D model in my hand?
Equip the rod in your main hand and it will render as a thick 3D shape instead of a flat sprite, as long as the pack is enabled and Cobblemon is installed. If it still looks flat, another pack is likely overriding the rod textures or models.
Does this pack change both the regular and ancient poke rods?
Yes. Both the standard rods and the older ancient-style rods get matching 3D shapes, and the colors are kept identical to the original flat sprites. You do not need a separate pack for each rod type.
How can I tell a regular rod apart from an ancient rod in 3D?
The two use different 3D shapes and color patterns carried over from their original sprites, so the silhouette and palette differ when held or viewed in the inventory. Compare them side by side in your hotbar or an item frame if you are unsure which is which.
Will this pack work if I don't have the Cobblemon mod installed?
No. The pack only replaces models and textures that Cobblemon adds, so without the mod there are no rods for it to affect. Install and load Cobblemon first, then enable this pack on top of it.
Can I use this pack alongside other resource packs?
Yes, but load order matters. If another pack also touches the poke rod models or textures, put this pack above it so the 3D versions win, or the rods may revert to flat sprites.
Does the 3D rod pack hurt my performance or FPS?
The change is limited to a few held item models, so the impact is minimal compared to packs that rework terrain or mobs. If you notice stutter, check whether other packs or shaders are the real cause before blaming the rods.
Why is my rod invisible instead of 3D?
An invisible rod usually means a model or texture conflict, often from another pack overriding the same files or from a partially loaded pack. Disable other rod-related packs, reload resources, and confirm Cobblemon is present in the instance.
Do I need to craft anything new to get the 3D rods?
No. The pack only changes how existing rods look, so any rod you already have or obtain through Cobblemon will automatically appear in 3D. There are no new items or recipes added by the pack itself.
