How to Create a Camera Path with Keyframes in CMDCam

Setting Up Your First Keyframe

Open the CMDCam control panel (default keybind is usually a dedicated hotkey you can check in Controls). Position your player where you want the camera to start, then add a keyframe. Each keyframe stores your current position, look direction, and any camera roll you have applied. The mod records these as a sequence you can play back later.

Building the Path

Move your player to the next position you want the camera to travel to, and add another keyframe. Repeat this for every point along your intended route. The mod interpolates smoothly between keyframes, so you do not need many of them for a simple pan — three or four well-placed points usually produce a clean sweep. If a segment looks jerky, add an intermediate keyframe rather than adjusting the existing ones.

Playing Back and Adjusting

Once your path is complete, trigger playback from the control panel. The camera will travel through each keyframe in order. If the timing feels off, you can adjust the duration between points. Use the outside mode if you want to keep controlling your player while the camera follows the path, which is useful for recording yourself walking through a build while the camera orbits independently.
