How to Use Cluttered Blocks for Exterior and Entryway Detail
Doors as a Focal Point
Cluttered's Art Nouveau Door and Alabaster French Door are statement pieces. Frame your front door with a contrasting block — Alabaster Wainscoting or a stone of your choice — and place a lamp or lantern on each side. The symmetry signals an entrance.
Windows Above the Door
Place a Pointed or Arch Window directly above the door to draw the eye upward. For a wider facade, use a Left and Right Arch Window pair flanking the door. Greenhouse Windows suit garden-facing walls and porches.
Porch and Entry Props
A Screen Door works well for a porch entrance. Place a Basket of Flowers or Assorted Glass Jars on a step or a mini table beside the door. An Antique Standing Lamp beside the door gives a warm, inhabited look at night.
Wallpaper on Exterior Walls
Wallpaper is intended for interiors, but wainscoting blocks like Alabaster Wainscoting can be used on covered porches and entryways to suggest paneled siding. Keep it under a roof overhang so it reads as interior trim rather than exterior cladding.
Symmetry Check
Stand back and look at the facade. If the door, windows, and lamps are not balanced left-to-right, adjust one element by a block until they are.
