Clutter No More Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I change a block's shape after I place it?
You can only change block shapes while holding them in your hand by pressing the designated shape-swap key. Once a block is placed in the world, you'll need to break it and pick it back up to change its shape again.
What's the keybind to swap between block shapes?
Check your Controls settings in-game—the shape-swap key is configurable. By default it's often a key like 'R' or 'V', but you can rebind it to whatever feels comfortable for your building workflow.
Do I need to craft stairs and slabs anymore?
No—with Clutter No More, you can convert any block into stairs, slabs, or other shapes directly in your hand without visiting a crafting table. This saves time and inventory space during large building projects.
Can I merge different block variants back into one stack?
Yes, the mod automatically merges scattered variants of the same material (like different orientations of stairs or slabs) back into a single stack when they're in your inventory together.
What are vertical slabs and small steps?
These are new building shapes added by the mod that don't exist in vanilla Minecraft. Vertical slabs stand upright on their sides, and small steps are shorter than regular stairs, giving you more creative building options.
Does this mod work with modded blocks?
Compatibility depends on how the modded blocks are coded. The mod works best with standard block types, but some custom blocks from other mods may not support shape conversion—check mod compatibility lists or test in-game.
Why are there so many block variants in my creative menu?
By default, Minecraft shows every rotation and variant of stairs and slabs separately. Clutter No More hides these duplicates in creative mode so your menu stays clean and easier to navigate.
Can I convert shapes back to the original block?
Yes—you can cycle through all available shapes for a block, including converting stairs or slabs back to full blocks by pressing the shape-swap key repeatedly.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
Clutter No More is lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable performance issues. It mainly manages inventory and creative menu display, so it runs smoothly even on lower-end systems.
What happens if I use this mod on a server?
The mod works on servers if the server has it installed. Without it on the server side, the shape-conversion feature won't function, though you can still use the mod for inventory organization on single-player.
