Collect XP instantly at a mob grinder without orbs swarming you

Clumps Mod changes this: when an orb touches you, you absorb it immediately.

Position yourself

1. Stand at or next to the spot where mobs die, such as the bottom of a drop chute or the kill platform.

2. Let the orbs spawn around you. Nearby orbs merge into larger clumps, so fewer entities reach you.

3. As each clump touches you, you receive its XP at once. There is no delay while orbs drift in.

Make it smoother

• Stand directly where orbs gather. The less distance they have to travel, the faster you collect.
• Keep your view clear. You'll see fewer individual orbs than in vanilla, because merged clumps replace them.
• Wear a Mending item. Collected XP is applied to repair as it normally would, so you can repair gear while you stand at the farm.

What to expect

Your XP level rises in quick jumps instead of a slow trickle. That is normal and means the clumps are being picked up as intended.
