How to let friends join your Cloudburst Bedrock server

Check the basics first

Cloudburst is a Bedrock server, so players join with Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Java Edition cannot connect to it.

The server listens on the port set in server.properties. The usual Bedrock default is 19132, and it uses UDP, not TCP. Open the file and check the port before you share anything.

Joining from the same network

1.

2. Find the local IP address of the computer running it.

3. In Minecraft, go to Play > Servers > Add Server.

4. Enter any name, the local IP, and the port, then save and join.

Joining over the internet

1. Allow the server port (UDP) through the firewall on the host machine.

2. On your router, forward that UDP port to the host computer's local IP.

3. Give friends your public IP address and the port to enter in Add Server.

If people cannot connect

  • Make sure you forwarded UDP, not just TCP.
  • Confirm the port in server.properties matches the one you forwarded.
  • Make sure no other Bedrock server is using the same port.
  • If you changed the port, restart the server.
  • If a whitelist is on, the player must be on it (see the whitelist guide).
