How to Sort Your Inventory with Client Sort Mod
Basic Sorting
Sorting an inventory with Client Sort Mod is deliberately simple. Open any inventory screen — your survival inventory, a chest, a barrel, a shulker box, or a modded container — and hover your cursor over the grid of slots you want to organize. Press the middle mouse button (the default sort keybind) and the mod rearranges the items in that container for you.
You do not need to click a button or open a menu. The sort happens instantly on the slots under your cursor, so make sure your mouse is actually positioned over the container you intend to sort rather than over your own inventory or the crafting area.
What Gets Sorted
Client Sort Mod groups similar items together and orders them in a predictable layout, so stacks of the same block or item end up adjacent instead of scattered. This works on both your player inventory and the container you have open. If you only want to tidy one side, hover that side specifically before pressing the key.
If Nothing Happens
If pressing the middle mouse button does nothing, the keybind may have been changed or may conflict with another mod. Check your controls settings and look for the Client Sort entry, then rebind it to a key your mouse or keyboard actually sends. Also confirm you are hovering directly over slots — hovering empty space around the GUI will not trigger a sort.
