10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I pick up a mob?
Stand near the mob you want to capture and hold Shift while right-clicking it. The mob will be added to your inventory as a mob head item. You can only carry one of each mob type at a time.
Can I pick up any mob or only certain ones?
Most vanilla mobs can be captured, including animals, monsters, and passive mobs. Some special mobs like the Ender Dragon or Wither cannot be picked up. Modded mobs may or may not be compatible depending on the mod.
What happens to the mob when I pick it up?
The mob disappears from the world and is stored in your inventory as a mob head. When you place it back, it will retain its health, status effects, and other properties from when you captured it.
How do I place a mob back down?
Right-click (without Shift) while holding the mob head to place the mob in the world at that location. The mob will spawn with the same behavior and properties it had when captured.
Can I put mobs in boats and minecarts?
Yes, right-click a boat or minecart while holding a mob head to place the mob inside it. This is useful for transporting mobs long distances without them wandering away.
How do I use dispensers to spawn mobs automatically?
Place a mob head in a dispenser and power it with redstone. When activated, the dispenser will spawn the mob in front of it, allowing you to create automatic mob farms or spawning systems.
Can I carry multiple mobs at once?
No, you can only carry one mob head of each type in your inventory at a time. If you want to store multiple of the same mob, you'll need to use other storage methods like chests.
Do captured mobs take up a lot of inventory space?
Each mob head takes up one inventory slot, regardless of the mob type or size. This makes the mod very inventory-efficient compared to other mob storage methods.
Will this mod cause lag if I capture a lot of mobs?
Captured mobs stored as items in your inventory have minimal performance impact. However, spawning many mobs into the world at once can cause lag depending on your system.
Do the mob heads look like actual mob heads or are they custom items?
The mod uses custom mob head textures that visually represent each mob type, making it easy to identify which mob you're carrying at a glance.
