Clear Lava Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Does this pack work with other resource packs?
Yes, but you'll need to place Clear Lava Resource Pack above other packs in your load order so its transparent lava texture takes priority. If another pack also modifies lava, whichever is loaded last will be used.
Can I still see lava flowing or moving?
Yes, the lava still animates and flows normally—you just see through it instead of being blocked by the orange/red texture. This makes it easier to track lava currents while exploring.
Does transparent lava affect my FPS or performance?
No, this is a resource pack that only changes textures, so it has no impact on performance or frame rate compared to vanilla lava.
Will I take damage from lava I can now see through?
Yes, transparent lava is still real lava—you'll take damage and burn just like normal if you touch it. The pack only changes how it looks, not how it behaves.
Does this work in the Overworld too or just the Nether?
It works everywhere lava exists, including the Overworld, the Nether, and the End. Any lava lake, lava fall, or lava source block will be transparent.
Can I see through lava in other players' bases on a server?
Yes, the transparent lava is client-side only, so it only affects what you see—other players won't see through lava unless they also have the pack installed.
Does this pack change anything besides lava textures?
No, Clear Lava Resource Pack only modifies lava appearance. All other blocks, items, and textures remain unchanged.
What if I want to turn transparency on and off quickly?
You can toggle the pack on or off in your resource pack menu without restarting the game—just move it between 'Available' and 'Selected' packs and the change takes effect immediately.
Does transparent lava make it harder to navigate by sight?
Some players find it disorienting at first because lava no longer acts as a visual barrier, but most adapt quickly and appreciate being able to see hazards and resources clearly.
Will this pack work if I'm using shaders?
Yes, but the visual result depends on how your shader handles transparency—some shaders may render the transparent lava differently than expected, so test it in your world first.
