Using the Pack to Explore Underwater Caves and Ocean Monuments

Preparing Before You Dive

With the overlay removed, your visibility underwater is limited mainly by light level rather than by a colored screen. Bring a light source you can place, such as torches or a lantern, and a potion or enchantment that helps you breathe and move underwater. Clear vision is most useful when you can actually stay down long enough to use it.

Navigating Tight Cave Systems

In flooded caves the removed overlay lets you spot the difference between a dead end and a passage much faster. Swim along walls and look for openings that would previously have been hidden behind the blue tint. Keep an eye on your air bubbles and surface regularly, since the pack does not change breathing mechanics.

Exploring Ocean Monuments and Shipwrecks

Around large underwater structures the clear view helps you spot guardians, prismarine blocks, and chests from a distance. Approach monuments from above and scan the layout before descending. For shipwrecks, the clearer view makes it easier to find the interior compartments where loot chests sit. Remember that hostile mobs can still see and attack you normally, so the pack improves visibility only, not safety.
