How to Toggle CleanView On and Off In-Game
CleanView is enabled by default, so the moment you load into a world your potion particles are already hidden. If you want to switch that behavior while playing, you need to bind the mod's toggle key first, because it ships with no key assigned.
Assigning the Toggle Key
1. Open the game's Options menu, then go to Controls.
2. Scroll to the Miscellaneous category — this is where CleanView registers its keybind.
3. Find the CleanView entry (it will show as unbound) and click it.
4. Press the key you want to use. Pick something you don't already use for sprinting, inventory, or drop-item, since a conflict will stop the toggle from firing.
5. Save and return to the game.
Using the Toggle
Once bound, pressing the key flips the mod on and off instantly — no restart, no world reload. When CleanView is on, particles spawned by potion effects on your own player (or on whatever entity the camera is attached to) are hidden from your view. When you toggle it off, those particles come back exactly as vanilla renders them.
Remember that this is purely visual. The potion effects themselves keep ticking and applying their buffs or debuffs whether the particles are visible or not, so you never lose gameplay function by hiding them.
